Maura Huwalt, a sophomore at Auburn, won the women's discus throw title on her final attempt with a lifetime-best 184-5 (56.21m) at the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championships at Ole Miss Track and Field Complex in Oxford, Mississippi. Huwalt rallied past 2021 winner Tedreauna Britt of Ole Miss, who took the lead on her final throw by one inch with a mark of 178-4 (54.36m). Huwalt joined teammates Madi Malone (hammer throw) and Ashley Carter (javelin throw) as the only trio from one school to win all three titles in the same year in conference championship history.
